From 2023 to 2024, I taught visual art at A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet Middle and High School. During my time there, I taught ceramics, painting, drawing, and introductory sculpture workshops to students in grades 10 through 12. My goal was to introduce students to college-level artistic concepts, critical thinking, and thematic exploration while helping them develop their own creative voices. The students produced incredible work, and many quickly advanced beyond what is typically expected at the high school level. As you'll see, a number of them created work that reflected a high level of technical skill, conceptual depth, and artistic maturity.
